According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mihajlovic walked over and asked if the man was talking to him.
The man aimed another insult, and then punched him in the face. Mihajlovic ducked most of the blow, but it still broke his sunglasses.
At this point, the ex-Lazio and Inter player reacted and eye-witness accounts suggest Mihajlovic had the aggressor on the ropes.
Sampdoria players intervened and the Coach pulled back to stop the brawl.
It is reported Mihajlovic has already told police to press charges for the assault.
