The defender started in a 3-5-2 system for the 2-0 friendly win over Holland and is expected to play Tuesday’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Norway too.
“The concepts of the defence are similar between Roma and the Nazionale,” said Astori in his Press conference.
“There are differences between the Coaches, but their styles of football are different and also have similarities at the same time.
“They are both great tacticians who ask a lot from their players and give a great deal in return.
“Conte is always a leader, on the bench or in training. We all know what he can do. Having the group of Juventus players in the squad was certainly helpful to understand Conte’s demands.”
Cagliari sold Astori to Roma this summer and he knows the fans expect a great deal from them.
“At Roma we do feel a lot of pressure to fight for the Scudetto to the end and try to go as far as possible in the Champions League.”
Astori was also asked about reports Lazio President Claudio Lotito’s presence in the Italy camp irritated the players this week.
“He was not an invasive figure who annoyed the team. Oriali also spoke about it yesterday, there is absolutely nothing to this story.”
