Verona Coach Andrea Mandorlini has called on his side to keep up the pressure on their Europa League rivals by beating Udinese tomorrow.

The Scaligeri are ninth in Serie A but are just two points off possible continental qualification, having only been promoted from Serie B last season.

Speaking at the Press conference ahead of the match against the Bianconeri, the tactician praised his players’ efforts this term but again bemoaned the decision to award Lazio a penalty in the dying stages of the 3-3 draw between the teams on Monday.

“That penalty was a glaring error,” Mandorlini told reporters. “Everyone could see it. We have always done our best but then someone took it away from us.

“It’s incredible, maybe that’s the only way they could stop us.

“We need to win against Udinese to put pressure on the other teams and to ensure we have no regrets at the end of the season.

“All we can do now is give our best in this match. I have a lot of anger within me because we have been hugely wronged, but it will pass because this has been a great season anyway.

“We have been a revelation this season and we don’t want it to finish here. We want to put pressure on our rivals, but I don’t like the fact we are being made to play before any of the others.”
