New Inter chief Erick Thohir has confirmed he will be back in Italy for the Week 17 derby against Milan.

The Indonesian businessman touched down on the peninsula late last week and yesterday was at San Siro for the first time as President.

“It was unbelievable, there was a great crowd,” Thohir told Inter Channel after the 1-1 draw with Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”5″>Sampdoria.

“It's my first match at San Siro and it would have been better to win obviously. But I think we played very well in the first half.

“There is always a risk of being pegged back when you don’t finish the game off and that’s what happened.

“That is what makes football so wonderful – it's not just an entertaining game but you can also have drama.

“At the end of the day, we have to accept the result. It was a good match, but obviously we can do better in the future.

“I think the team will improve. We have to be good for the 90 minutes, not only 45.”

Inter are fourth in the standings, but could be caught by Fiorentina tonight should the Viola beat Verona.

“I'm looking forward to the next games, the derby especially, and hopefully it's going to be an exciting game to see,” Thohir, who bought 70 per cent of the club from Massimo Moratti, added.

“I'll be here again for the derby because it's good to support the team. That's why I went to see them in the locker room afterwards – to give them support.”
