Fabio Borini’s agent has confirmed that the young striker will consider leaving Roma this summer to sign for Liverpool.

Rumours emerged overnight of the Reds’ interest in the 21-year-old, who worked with new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers when the duo where together at Swansea in 2010-11.

Giallorosso sporting director Walter Sabatini has since confirmed that an offer, rumoured to be around the £8m mark, has come in, which as Borini’s representative now admits, will be considered by the player.

“Roma has informed us of Liverpool’s interest in the boy. Now it’s up to Fabio to have his say,” Marco De Marchi told Radio Radio, before then talking to IlSussidiario.net.

“We were alerted by Roma of the existence of this deal. I cannot honestly tell you the details but, as Sabatini has already said, we’re now seriously considering it.

“Would the player want to go to Liverpool? Honestly, I don’t want to commit myself as there will be more news in the coming days. Wait for that.”
