The full-back has been paired with Paris Saint-Germain, Lazio” data-scaytid=”3″>Lazio, Roma and Napoli during this transfer market, whilst Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini has also asserted a desire to keep him in Sicily.

Mediagol are reporting tonight that the Italy international, who was a part of the Euro 2012 campaign, has met with Zamparini to request more time in which to consider reported offers from several clubs.

The past week has seen Zamparini claim that Napoli had the edge in negotiations for the 30-year-old and then that Roma were leading the way.

The Vesuviani have reportedly offered €5m against the Giallorossi’s €4.5m offer, whilst Lazio are just behind with a rumoured €4m proposal, but mark that against a contract offer of €1.6m a year, which is said to be €100,000 more than the other two have reportedly put forward.

It is understood that today’s meeting between Palermo and the player, however, also saw the Sicilians propose a two-year contract extension to the player, with the insertion of a future directorial role at the club guaranteed upon retirement.
