Catania have taken a remarkable step during the financial crisis by giving some supporters free season tickets.

“Our season ticket campaign has been based on a precise design to make it more accessible for the majority of Catania’s friends and adds some important new elements this year.
“The prices are reduced to become among the most competitive in Serie A, giving special attention to families and youngsters.
“We are fully aware of the difficulties experienced by many of our ‘Rossazzurri hearts’ during this complex economic period. Many at the moment are not capable of shaking the hand we put forward in the Press conference for the 2012-13 season ticket campaign.
“Thinking of them, Calcio Catania will provide some free season tickets that will be assigned on the basis of votes from the other ticket holders.
“The recipients must have ‘proven’ passion for our club colours, struck by adverse circumstances or significant problems that mean they cannot renew or buy a season ticket. Naturally, all names will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
“Calcio Catania will hand the season tickets to those fans who receive the most mentions. That way ‘wanting to’ will for some become ‘reality’ by overcoming a seemingly insurmountable obstacle. This can help prove the strength of the embrace that unites us with you.”
