Italy boss Cesare Prandelli checked up on the fitness of Antonio Cassano today as he visited Milan in training.

The Italy CT is on a tour of clubs as he looks to make his final decisions regarding his squad for Euro 2012.

Cassano was a regular in his starting XI until the player underwent heart surgery last autumn, leaving him sidelined for six months.

Cassano was a regular in his starting XI until the player underwent heart surgery last autumn, leaving him sidelined for six months.

“I’m seeing that Antonio is playing more and more for the Rossoneri,” Prandelli told Milan Channel on Thursday.

“This is important for a player like him.

“He’s in a good place psychologically,” the tactician added. “I was interested in coming here so I could see his motivation. I’m satisfied with today’s contact.”

Prandelli has always made it clear that he hoped to recover the former Sampdoria player in time for the European Championship.

Cassano has made an appearance in three of the Rossoneri’s last four League games.

Prandelli, who is being linked with Inter, will attend Genoa’s training session on Friday.
