The Partenopei have repeatedly dropped points against the smaller sides this season, as they have found balancing three different tournaments a tricky proposition.

“We can take nothing for granted, so I want my lads to give their absolute all in every single game,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Often we get unbalanced against the smaller teams, so we end up conceding on the counter-attack, just as we did with Bologna last week. The top clubs can break the deadlock and then it’s all much easier, whereas we’re not clinical enough in front of goal. We need that final step forward.

“Siena are very organised and dangerous on home turf. We expect a battle, because now Napoli are feared by everyone.”

Ezequiel Lavezzi has returned from injury, but is not expected to take part in this match.

“Don’t forget Lavezzi has been out for three weeks and needed to re-do his mid-season training. He has to rediscover his form, but the choice is not only a tactical one. We’ll see.

“A Coach has to find balance. Too often we pour forward and show our weak side to the opposition, so that’s something we’ve got to work on.

“Last season we had an extraordinary campaign, while this term we are working very well and continuing our process of growth. We invested in young players and the results will be seen over time.”
