Inter chief Massimo Moratti has suggested that he will get his chequebook out during the January transfer window.

Despite a recent revival at San Siro, the oil baron is ready to strengthen the squad after Christmas if possible.

“I’m satisfied with the improvements in the team and in our League position,” the President told Sky Sport Italia. “The players are re-finding themselves.

“The squad is sufficiently big enough right now, but I’ll look to meet the needs of Coach Claudio Ranieri.”

Inter won 1-0 at Cesena on Sunday afternoon to move up into fifth place – even if they are still 10 points behind leaders Juventus.

The Nerazzurri, who sacked boss Gian Piero Gasperini in September, have won five out of their last six games in Serie A.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Moratti will hold talks with Inter director Marco Branca on Monday to discuss possible targets.
