Davide Ballardini is looking for his first Cagliari victory, but warns Bologna “are among the best away from home.”

He is the third Coach on the bench this season following Roberto Donadoni and Massimo Ficcadenti, although he has been at the Stadio Sant’Elia twice before.

“I know it may seem like a cliché, but the Bologna we’ll face this weekend is going to be a very tricky prospect indeed,” warned Ballardini.

“The arrival of Stefano Pioli has made them among the best teams away from home. With counter-attacking specialists like Marco Di Vaio, Robert Acquafresca and Gaston Ramirez, they can do damage.

“It’s true we have Andrea Cossu back from injury, but we lose Davide Biondini. We hope Cossu can give us that danger element in attack that we’ve been lacking recently.”

Ballardini has lost both his games in charge of Cagliari in Serie A against Inter and the Coppa Italia with Siena.

“We’ve got to speed up our attacking moves so we are not left trying to find our way through a packed penalty area.”
