The Viola dismissed Mihajlovic this evening after a day of crisis talks between club officials and the Serbian tactician.
It’s understood that sporting director Pantaleo Corvino met with Mihajlovic earlier today requesting him to resign. The former Bologna man refused.
Fiorentina have subsequently sacked the former Lazio” data-scaytid=”11″>Lazio and Inter defender who arrived in Tuscany in the summer of 2010.
The Stadio Franchi outfit are currently 12th in the table after winning just one of their last seven games in the top flight.
Gigi Del Neri and Carlo Ancelotti were mentioned as possible replacements for Mihajlovic, but Rossi got the nod.
