The agent of Manuel Pasqual has questioned the wisdom of Italy boss Cesare Prandelli for ignoring his client.

The left-back hasn't played for his country since 2006 and was not included in the latest Azzurri party for the Serbia and Northern Ireland games.

"Unfortunately, the Coach is who he is," Gastone Rizzato told firenzeviola.it on Tuesday afternoon.

"The national team should be an expression of those players in form, role by role," he continued.

"Evidently Prandelli prefers to rely on the surname of his men."

Pasqual made his Azzurri debut in the March 2006 4-1 friendly win against Germany. He won his second and final cap in November of that same year in the 1-1 with Turkey.

However, Pasqual has only played for 30 minutes in the Italy shirt.

Prandelli has opted to select two other left-backs for the country's next two games – Zenit's Domenico Criscito and Federico Balzaretti of Palermo.
