Catania general manager Pietro Lo Monaco denies reports they have signed Boca Juniors star Pablo Mouche.

“I have to categorically rule out the rumours that we have already got Mouche,” said the transfer chief.

“He is certainly a player we were interested in, but the negotiations never took off. Besides, we have Davide Lanzafame in that position, so do not need anyone else.”

The reports emerged when Mouche was quoted in the Argentine Press saying he was on the verge of completing the transfer.

Meanwhile, Catania have also been linked with a return for Jorge Martinez (pictured), who has barely featured since joining Juventus a year ago.

“Martinez to Catania is not an impossible thing, even if his wages are beyond our parameters.

“As for Maxi Lopez, some clubs could revive their interest in him, but if they don't pay what we consider to be his true value, then he's staying with us.”
