It was hoped Rossi could complete his transfer to Turin by the end of this week, but now it's reported next Tuesday is a more likely turning point.

There appear to be two issues at the heart of the €30m move.

The first is linked to performance-related bonuses, as Juve do not want the total sum of their offer to go beyond €30m.

Another problem is with regards to timing, as Villarreal would like to keep hold of Rossi until the Champions League preliminary round is completed in August.

This would not be a problem for Juventus, who are not taking part in any European competition this season, so the fact he'll be cup-tied is irrelevant.

However, it would be a very late switch to join new Coach Antonio Conte's squad.
