Delio Rossi says Palermo's surprise triumph in Rome does little for the table, “but it's important for our self-esteem.”

The Sicilians hadn't won on their travels since February and rested a few players ahead of the Coppa Italia semi-final with Milan, but still won 3-2.

“It may not make much difference to us in the table, but it's important for our self-esteem,” said the Coach.

It was Rossi's first win since coming back to the Rosanero bench, having been replaced for 35 days by Serse Cosmi.

“This is a side that needs to play in a certain way and try to help each other out. We have to let the players get on with it, even though that means taking a few risks.

“We made choices this season and focused on young players who need time to mature. These lads have quality and talent but, as all young lads, have peaks and troughs.”
