Fiorentina were wasteful and paid the price with a shock 2-1 home defeat to Lech Poznan.
The group is now wide open, as leaders Basel also lost 2-1 at home to Belenenses.
The Viola were top of the Serie A table, but had only one win and a loss to their name in Europe. Paulo Sousa revamped his squad with Borja Valero, Milan Badelj and injured Gilberto among those rested. Gonzalo Rodriguez and Karol Linetty sat out bans.
The hosts almost scored in the opening minute, but couldn’t quite bundle a Mati Fernandez free kick over the line.

Giuseppe Rossi looked on fine form and sent Khouma Babacar clear with several smart passes, but the Senegal striker’s finishing needed some work or he hesitated and the goalkeeper smothered at his feet.
It was difficult to find a way through, as Lech Poznan focused purely on defending with 10 men behind the ball.
Babacar forced the first genuine save on 59 minutes, cutting back to commit a defender and his left-foot shot beaten away by Jasmin Buric.
Incredibly, Lech Poznan scored with their first chance of the match. Substitute Dawid Kownacki had only been on for two minutes when he anticipated Davide Astori to tap in a Gergo Lovrencsics pull-back from six yards.
Fiorentina threw everything at Lech, but Rossi’s attempt was deflected for a corner, then Matias Vecino’s screamer was well saved and Federico Bernardeschi flashed the follow-up across the face of goal.
Bernardeschi tested Buric again from a Mati Fernandez assist, forcing a fantastic reaction save from 12 yards.
Just as it seemed impossible for Fiorentina to not equalise, they conceded a second against the run of play. A free kick was knocked down by Marcin Kaminski for Macieij Gajos, who was allowed too much time and space to scuff in the finish from seven yards.
Rossi got one back when meeting the pull-back as Mati Fernandez burst down the left to the by-line and it was almost 2-2 moments later as Pepito charged down a poor Buric clearance for it to rebound wide.
However, Rebic got himself sent off with a straight red card for his terrible two-footed tackle on Formella.
