The former Sampdoria man has previously warned that he would leave if the club wants him to, and today Mediaset reports that the Argentinian has rejected a new contract.

The news outlet believes that Icardi was offered €2.6m per season, but his agent is holding out for a deal worth €3m.

Mediaset states that were the striker to accept a lower wage, he would insist on a release clause of between €30-€35m, so that he could leave should the Nerazzurri’s fortunes not improve.

Chelsea are one of the clubs linked with the player, who also has four goals in the Europa League this term.
