There are various reports that Silvio Berlusconi held a meeting last night over the possible sale of Milan.

It was claimed yesterday that the club President had privately admitted that selling the Rossoneri to a group of Chinese investors was a ‘done deal’.

However, news agency ANSA then contradicted that claim, insisting that sources close to the former Italian Prime Minister had denied any talks.

Despite that, this morning Sky, Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera are reporting that Berlusconi met with Hong Kong businessman Richard Lee at his Arcore residence last night.

Corriere della Sera says that Lee, who runs a business importing Italian supercars to Hong Kong, is heading up a Chinese consortium, which is supported by the Beijing government.

The newspaper is not sure who is behind his bid, but speculates that it could be Zong Qinghou of the Wahaha Group or ‘Mr Pink’ who was been previously linked.

In addition, both Sky and Gazzetta believe that Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol is still interested in taking over the Diavolo.

However, after the meeting which is believed to have taken place last night, it’s believed that the Chinese bid is in pole position.
