Hellas Verona are reportedly in talks to renew Ivan Ilic’s loan from Manchester City.

The Serbian midfielder moved to the Stadio Bentegodi on a temporary deal last season, but the Scaligeri wants to extend his time in Verona for one more season.

Ilic scored two goals in 29 appearances with the Gialloblu in 2020-21 and although coach Ivan Juric left the club at the end of the season, Verona still want Ilic to be part of the team.

According to the local newspaper L’Arena, Verona are in talks to renew the loan of the 20-year-old for one more season and could pay €1m to extend his stay at the club until June 2022.

Verona have yet to appoint a new coach after Juric’s departure and according to several reports, former Roma and Cagliari boss Eusebio Di Francesco is in pole position for the job at the Stadio Bentegodi.
