PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot confirms he was in talks with Roma, but “I don’t know what went wrong.”
The 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and therefore likely to leave in January rather than be allowed to go as a free agent.
However, he had been on the verge of joining the Giallorossi over the summer.
“Everything had gone the right way and it was my choice, I thought of wearing the Roma jersey,” he told Canal Football Club.
“To be honest, I don’t know what went wrong to make the negotiations collapse.”
Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Rabiot in a January swoop, but his comments in France suggest he has already made his decision.
“Roma are a great club, their project is enticing and they are in the Champions League.
“Now we’ll have to wait until January and see what to do. I chose my mother as my agent, as she gives me good advice.
“I don’t know if I will play for PSG again, as I don’t enjoy being in the reserves. I am at the disposal of the Coach and he will be the one to decide.”
