Paolo Maldini, Christian Vieri, Giorgio Chiellini and a large cast of Italy’s 2006 World Cup winning squad are all expected to attend the exciting Nations League match against France in San Siro on Sunday evening.

Italy and Serie A legends expected at France match

A star-studded selection of Azzurri legends are expected to attend the Italy-France fixture, which features the same two nations as the 2006 World Cup final.

Of the World Cup-winning Italy team, Gianluigi Buffon will be there, of course, given his role within Luciano Spalletti’s backroom staff. Daniele De Rossi will also be there, as will Maldini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Oddo and Cristian Zaccardo.

Also expected to attend are Vieri, Chiellini, Roberto Donadoni, Mauro Tassotti and Fabio Capello.

Several non-playing stars of the current Serie A scene are also expected to be in San Siro, including Inter President Beppe Marotta and Milan advisor Zlatan Ibarhimovic. Former Milan CEO and current Monza chief Adriano Galliani will be there too, according to Sky Sport Italia

There will also be a pre-match tribute to the late, great Gigi Riva, who would have celebrated his 80th birthday this month.

Italy-France will be played in front of a crowd of around 68,000 in a sold-out San Siro.
