La Dea face Real Madrid in the decider of the Champions League round of 16 tomorrow.
They lost the first leg 1-0 in Bergamo three weeks ago, when Remo Freuler was shown a straight red card amid controversy.
"Real Madrid were the favourites, and now they are even more. We can still qualify, we want to be as competitive as possible," Gasperini said at a press conference.
"We'll see how the game evolves, we'll play our game, with our identity and ideas.
"We are aware Real Madrid can use different systems but are prepared to face different situations. We are not going to change our style.
"We are sorry we couldn't play the first leg as we wanted. We had to play a defensive game, but we can't think about that game. It belongs to the past.
"Now it's more difficult, but we have extra motivation. We want to face the best teams in the world to know which level we are.
"We've never changed our approach or our identity. We could park the bus and wait for a chance, but this is not our mentality.
"It's hard to face Real Madrid. They don't make many mistakes. Their level is very high, we saw that in Bergamo and we'll see that again tomorrow. They are the favourites, but the pitch will do the talking.
"We are motivated. If there will be the right conditions, we'll try to create trouble for Real Madrid and subvert the expectations.
"We can't expect to beat Real Madrid at all costs, it would be pretty cocky.
"We need to figure out how to stop them. We want to have a great game, hoping it will be enough against one of the most winning teams."
Karim Benzema is expected to start tomorrow after missing the first leg with an injury.
"Benzema is one of the best strikers in the world, but Real Madrid do not only have him. They can score goals in many different ways," Gasperini said.
"We are ready. Everyone is available except for Hateboer, Sutalo and Freuler wo is suspended. Djimsiti has recovered and he can play.
"So far, it has been a difficult Champions League, but we collected 11 points in the group stage and qualified despite a tough group, harder than last season's. Now we meet in Real Madrid, tomorrow's game can be a turning point for the season."
