Kevin Lasagna concedes it is ‘a bit strange’ to be facing Udinese just days after completing the move to Verona. ‘It’s a step that benefits my career.’
Curiously, his full debut for Hellas will be against his old club at the Dacia Arena on Sunday afternoon.
“It is a bit strange, but I am at the disposal of the coach, whether I get to play from the start or only be on the pitch for one minute,” said the striker in his press conference.

“The negotiations with Verona didn’t last more than a week. The opportunity arose and it didn’t take me long to decide after talking to my agent, because it’s a step that can really benefit my career.
“I already know the city well, as I started at Chievo Verona when I was 10 years old. Hellas are a club constantly growing and they have ambition, which is why I accepted straight away.
“Getting into the Italy squad is among my objectives and if I do well at Verona, it’ll be easier to get a call-up.”
Lasagna was asked what he brings to Ivan Juric’s squad that they do not currently already have.
“I am a centre-forward, but can also be a support striker. We are trying a few different tactical solutions in training, so both by myself and alongside Nikola Kalinic.
“I have scored double figures in each of the last three seasons. It’s true this term hasn’t started well, but I think with the change of scenery, I can find the push to net at least 10 again.
“I already know Antonin Barak from Udinese and he gave me a lot of assists, so I hope we can create a good partnership.”
