Inter CEO Beppe Marotta shut the door on Deadline Day and revealed there were never any advanced negotiations to swap Alexis Sanchez with Roma forward Edin Dzeko.
“There was a bit of audacity on the part of the agents of the two players,” Marotta said, according to TMW.
“Beyond a meeting between the directors, we never got into the heart of the negotiations. In compliance with Inter’s indications and guidelines, I still reconfirm today that there will be no entries and exits.
“We can count on an important group.”

“When you are at a big club, there are no starters and reserves,” he continued. “There are starters and starters.

Marotta reconfirmed that the market is closed for Inter.
“Absolutely, yes,” he said. “We are faced with an extraordinary event. The pandemic has had a strong impact and the model of the past is not sustainable.
“At this moment, we have to deal with the cost of labour, and it must be reviewed, in order not to risk a default.
“We will not entertain any negotiations for big transfers and big salaries.”
