Tuttomercatoweb claims the Goddess are preparing for life after the 29-year-old forward and have contacted Chelsea about the Belgium international.

Batshuayi has one year left on his deal at the Stamford Bridge but could renew his contract with the Blues.

The report claims a loan deal with an option to buy has not been excluded by either side and Atalanta have therefore identified Batshuayi as the perfect fit should Zapata leave the Gewiss Stadium this summer.

It seems like an unlikely move for the former Borussia Dortmund forward, due to his previous experience with the Orobici fans, as he was targeted by racist abuse during their clash in the Europa League two years ago.
