Brescia have officially named Luigi Delneri as their new coach, after he had originally agreed to be their technical director.
It means the contract with current coach Diego Lopez is terminated by mutual consent following relegation to Serie B.
Former Chievo, Sampdoria and Juventus boss Delneri had been approached a few weeks ago to become a new technical director at Brescia.
That would’ve given him power over uniting the senior squad with the youth academy, getting the various levels of the club to work together with a focus on training regime.

Instead, President Massimo Cellino successfully lobbied Delneri to get back into management and sign on as the new Brescia coach.
The 69-year-old had not worked as a coach since he was fired by Udinese in November 2017.
