Inter boss Antonio Conte admits seeing Andrea Pirlo become his Scudetto rival coach at Juventus is ‘starting to make me feel old!’
The decision was announced yesterday that the Bianconeri would be led by Pirlo in his very first management role, replacing Maurizio Sarri.
“I am certainly very happy for Andrea, because on top of everything he gave me in a football sense, he is an exceptional person and I have immense affection for him,” said Conte in his press conference.

“Having said that, seeing players who I used to train are now becoming coaches is starting to make me feel old!”
Pirlo was the key figure in Conte’s Juventus, who started the run of nine consecutive Serie A titles with three in a row back in 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14.
They then worked together when Conte took the Italy job for two years.
Meanwhile, Pirlo also said his first words since the announcement of his new role was made.
“I’m deeply pleased and honoured to receive such respect and trust from Juventus. Ready for this amazing opportunity!”
He wrote that on Twitter, but got the wrong ‘handle’ for Juventus, instead linking to a plastic surgery company in New York.
Contento e orgoglioso di ricevere tanta stima e fiducia da @Juventus.
Pronto per questa fantastica opportunità!
