Stefan de Vrij is ‘disappointed’ with the 2-2 draw away to Roma, but insists Inter ‘showed character to get back into it.’
The Nerazzurri took the lead through De Vrij’s header, were turned around by Leonardo Spinazzola and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, only for Spinazzola’s comical error to gift a Romelu Lukaku penalty.
“We came here to put pressure on Juventus and close to within three points. It’s disappointing,” De Vrij told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was an advantage after 14 minutes, which was different from allowing a goal in the final minute. We showed character to get back into it and equalise, then tried to win, but it wasn’t enough.”
Nonetheless, the point did allow Inter to mathematically secure their place in the Champions League for next season.
