The controversy has been swirling over the last week, with Brescia President Massimo Cellino calling the entire deal “a mistake” and multiple reports the forward has been skipping training.
SuperMario repeatedly denied he was standing Brescia staff up and assured he would explain when the time was right.
Today, amid more reports he missed both the morning and afternoon training sessions, Balotelli released a picture on his Instagram Stories.
“Still sick,” said the caption with some nausea emojis, as he took a selfie lying down.
According to rumours, he is suffering from gastro-intestinal problems, but Brescia club sources insist they have not been told anything officially by the player.
It is increasingly likely Balotelli and Brescia will terminate the contract early, although it was due to expire on June 30 anyway if the club did not manage to stay in Serie A for another season.
