Atalanta’s demolition of Lecce is only the second time in Serie A history that a 2-7 score line has been recorded.

La Dea brushed aside the Giallorossi in the second half after going into half time with the game at 2-2.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side then scored a further five in the second half.

The score line is such a rarity it's only the second time it’s happened in the league’s history.

The first time was in the 1951-52 season, when Juventus beat Udinese on March 30 1952.

The first time was in the 1951-52 season, when Juventus beat Udinese on March 30 1952.

The only game that has come close to matching that score line was Fiorentina 3-7 Milan in the 1992-93 season, when Ruud Gullit, Marco Van Basten and Daniele Massaro all scored two goals apiece for the Rossoneri in October 1992.

Atalanta have scored five + goals for the fifth time this season in Serie A, equalling a record set by Milan in 1958-59.

La Dea also join Man City and PSG for having three players scoring into double figures this season, with Duvan Zapata joining Josip Ilicic and Luis Muriel.

Atalanta have scored 70 goals so far this season in Serie A.
