Paulo Fonseca said Roma wants to change the trend against Juventus in Turin but has admitted the players “can’t have recovered” from their win over Genoa.

After back-to-back victories on the road against Parma and Genoa, the Giallorossi continue on their travels with their third away game against Juventus in the Coppa Italia tomorrow.

“There’s not a lot of time between one game and the next,” Fosenca told Roma’s official channel. “We had a short training session; the players can’t have recovered from the match against Genoa [on Sunday].

“We trained strategically for the next game. The players are confident. Only [Federico] Fazio will have recovered from the game against Genoa. [Diego] Perotti is not ready yet, like [Javier] Pastore and [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan. I hope to have Perotti back against Lazio.”

The two sides met only ten days ago, when Juventus won 2-1 at the Olimpico and Fonseca said they would like to do something about the poor run at the Allianz Stadium.

“It’s important to have the desire to win and the confidence to change the trend that Roma have had at the Stadium in recent years,” he added. “Juve are a great team, but we played a good game against them at the Olimpico.

“We reviewed that game two weeks ago; we can’t make the same mistakes as we did during the first minutes of that game.”

Nikola Kalinic was back on the bench against Genoa in Serie A, but played a good game against Parma in the Coppa Italia last round. Fonseca revealed he will play against the Bianconeri tomorrow.

“Kalinic played a good game against Parma, and I’m sure he will play a good game tomorrow.”
