Brescia have officially signed Iceland international Birkir Bjarnason on an 18-month contract as a free agent.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to Serie A, having played for Pescara and Sampdoria from 2012-15.

He went on to FC Basel and Aston Villa, joining Al Arabi in October 2019 on a short contract.

Bjarnason is most famous for his exploits with the Iceland national team at Euro 2016, reaching the quarter-finals.
