“After our performances against Juventus and Cagliari, we are confident that we can have our say against anyone,” said the coach in his press conference.
“At the start of the season, we would only get points against the teams on our level, but now that we’ve picked up draws with Juve and Cagliari, then we must continue like this.
“We would probably have deserved more this term, but if we didn’t get the results, it means we made mistakes somewhere along the way.”
Milan are starting to find their feet under new coach Stefano Pioli, putting together two wins on the bounce.
“The Rossoneri have quality players and we respect them all. We want to play our game, concentrating on what we can do and our own need for points.
“Theo Hernandez is one we need to keep a particular eye on, so Domenico Berardi has to do some defensive work there. The same goes for Jeremie Boga on Andrea Conti on the other flank.
“I want to see my team walk out at San Siro with courage, humility and focus on detail.”
It’s going to be a special match for Manuel Locatelli, who came up through the Milan youth academy and made his Serie A debut for the Rossoneri.
“Locatelli plays at his best I think alongside a playmaker rather than being one himself, but he pushes seven days out of seven in training and is a complete player.”
Vlad Chiriches, Gregoire Defrel and Andrea Consigli are out of action.
