Mihajlovic has been working with the squad in training after his bone marrow transplant, but was not at the Stadio San Paolo for last week’s 2-1 win at Napoli.
“If there are no last-minute problems, then Mihajlovic will be on the bench tomorrow,” said assistant manager Miroslav Tanjga in a press conference.
“Milan’s quality is beyond dispute, even if they were a little lucky to beat Parma. Our self-esteem grew following the win over Napoli and I think we’ll get out there with a great deal of grit and determination to do well.
“We cannot say Milan are an unbeatable team for Bologna to deal with, so we can win this and expect it to be an open game.”
Bologna lost a Coppa Italia tie 4-0 to Udinese midweek, having massively rotated the squad.
“The fans were certainly unhappy at a 4-0 defeat, but they don’t know everything that happens inside a dressing room. We had a lot of absentees, but tried to play our football nonetheless. Udinese showed they have more strength in depth than we do.
“Now we have to concentrate on Milan, because if we play the way we know how, then we certainly have the opportunity to win.”
Mitchell Dijks has been added to the absentee list, while Tanjga hinted Andreas Skov Olsen “is in better shape right now” than Riccardo Orsolini.
“Milan have a lot of quality down the flanks and can be unpredictable in those situations, so we need to keep a close eye on those areas.”
