According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corriere del Mezzogiorno and other newspapers, today is decisive for Ancelotti’s future on the Napoli bench.

Failure to beat relegation strugglers Udinese will result in a dismissal for Ancelotti, although the decision wouldn’t be announced until after Wednesday’s Champions League encounter with KRC Genk.

That is because the Partenopei need only one point against the Belgians to secure their place in the Champions League Round of 16.

Nonetheless, they are winless in eight competitive games, six alone in Serie A, and risk falling too far behind the top four to recover.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia point to Gattuso being lined up to replace his former Milan mentor Ancelotti.
