Lecce boss Fabio Liverani spoke of regret at not talking all three points against Sassuolo and the "misunderstanding" with Khouma Babacar.

The Salentini took the lead twice at the Stadio Via del Mare before Domenico Berardi scored late on for a 2-2 draw.

"There is regret. We played three games in a week with quality and heart, and in the last four days we took only two points when we should've taken all six.

"There is regret. We played three games in a week with quality and heart, and in the last four days we took only two points when we should've taken all six.

"I take the positive with the four consecutive useful results. They will be very important for our survival."

Lecce lost two players to injury, including striker Babacar in the opening minutes of the game, and Liverani talked of a breakdown in communication between the pair.

When Babacar was substituted, he seemed furious with his coach on the touchline.

"Today we lost two players in the first half, and [Zan] Majer gritted through his teeth until he could play no longer.

"Babacar took a hit in training on Friday, and he didn't train yesterday. Today he went down after the first minute and raised his hand, then I realised he was in trouble, and Lecce need players at 100%. Next time there will be no misunderstanding between us."
