Eusebio Di Francesco has urged Sampdoria to ignore the pressure when they face Verona in Serie A tomorrow.

Di Francesco could be relieved of his duties as Samp boss if he fails to mastermind a victory over Verona, having lost five of his first six League games at the helm.

However, he stressed at a Press conference: “It’s not the game of our lives.

“We mustn’t put too much weight on this game: it must be played carefully, but there are still lots of games to go.

However, he stressed at a Press conference: “It’s not the game of our lives.

“We mustn’t put too much weight on this game: it must be played carefully, but there are still lots of games to go.

“The mental aspect is crucial in preparing for this match, and it’s for this reason I say that it’s crucial to approach this game in the right way.

“We know we’re facing a team who are technically less capable than us but are still a difficult team to deal with because they may have more conviction than us.”

The former Sassuolo boss then paid tribute to Giorgio Squinzi, the Neroverdi patron who sadly died earlier in the week.

“For me, he was a very important person, not only in football but also as a person.”
