“Roma’s strengths are clear for all to see and were last season too,” said Andreazzoli in his Press conference.
“Those lads know each other well and that is probably an advantage. I already saw the influence of their new Coach, as Fonseca has given them a precise shape and identity.
“Having said that, I also feel they could have some difficulties and we must try to take advantage of those. I have many friends at Roma and spent 10 years of my life at that club, so I will be hosted by a side that gave me so much. I am always glad to be back there, but obviously I am a professional and now hope to make them unhappy!”
It won’t be easy, because Genoa have a notoriously awful record in this fixture, losing 12 consecutive trips to the Olimpico.
“Statistics can be damning, but also freeing, so we go into this game without any real pressure. We’ll try to do the best we can against a side with great potential and aspirations.
“Only time will tell what this Genoa side can do. From my first day here, I said words are meaningless without action and it’s all up to us. We’re now in the thick of things and details are crucial, so we’ve got to focus on those.”
Andreazzoli confirmed Domenico Criscito was suffering from flu symptoms, but has recovered and was in the full training session this morning.
Kevin Augdelo and Marko Pajac are suspended, with Stefano Sturaro, Riccardo Saponara and Francesco Cassata injured.
