Parma boss Roberto D’Aversa has called on the club’s fans to play their part against Juventus as ‘100 percent might not be enough.’
Parma kick off the new Serie A season against Juve, who have won the last eight Scudetti, and D’Aversa urged supporters to get behind the team, while demanding the ‘perfect’ game from his players.
“We know how much the city cares about this game, it will be difficult but the aim is to look to get points,” the Coach said at a Press conference, as per the Ducali’s official website.
“We’ll have to play the perfect game, I’m sure that we’ll have the crowd behind us and we must do everything to bring home the points.
“Their team is worth a lot and I’m certainly sorry that [Sarri] won’t be there for health reasons and I also take this opportunity to send my best wishes to Mihajlovic because it’s not nice that they’re out for health reasons.
“Juventus can put you in difficulty and woe betides anyone who thinks their job will be easier for one reason or another.
“We need to do well and work with our DNA that means staying compact and desire to get results.
“I told the team that everyone will be watching tomorrow. On our part, we want to test ourselves against the best with our personal pride and desire to show that who’s stronger on paper isn’t always reflected on the pitch.
“Tomorrow, we can’t make any mistakes. In the week, we worked on tactics as we know the opponent and we have to play with the will to make it difficult for them. 100 percent might not be enough, the crowd will certainly push us on to go beyond.
“I trust in players who could be set to make their Serie A debuts like Hernani or Brugman. Juve are a really strong side, we can’t think that we have any advantages when we play tomorrow.
“What I want is for the team to show the same attitude from last season. It all depends on how we approach every game. It all depends on how we approach each game.
“We must be the first to believe we can get results, the guys know we must show this determination and there’s a gap between us and them. We must take them on with our compact spirit and the support of the crowd.
“Sarri promotes a certain type of football, where Allegri perhaps left players alone he looks to implement certain tactical solutions.
“They will be organised, they’ll look to play their game and move the ball a lot with a tight side, we’ll also have to deal with strong individuals so we must be ready and focused.”
