Edy Reja has announced his desire to take Albania to Euro 2020 and ‘leave a good impression’ after being confirmed as CT.

Reja succeeds Christian Panucci on a one-year contract, while the role is his first since leaving Atalanta in 2016.

“I have a contract until November, then we’ll see,” the former Napoli and Lazio boss told reporters.

“I always sign one-year agreements, then the results decide my future. Now, after coaching for a long time in Italy, I wanted a national team and I’m happy to be here.

“Our objective is clear: to qualify for the European Championships and then leave a good impression.

“I’ll try to bring my ideas: I like aggressive teams, but it depends on the group you have available. I think I can understand the players and get into their heads.”

The 73-year-old’s first game is a Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland on June 8.
