Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira warned “I’ve played in Italy, so I know it’ll be a very different game at the San Paolo” against Napoli.

The Gunners won the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final 2-0 with Aaron Ramsey and a Torreira shot that was deflected in off Kalidou Koulibaly.

“It’s a great victory that makes us very happy. We started very strong and pressed Napoli from the off, as we knew they liked to play out from the back,” Torreira told Sky Sport Italia.

“We prepared the pressing game during the week, that’s how my goal came about and it worked really well.

“I am well aware, having played in Italy, that it will be a very different game at the San Paolo. They have passionate fans, are so strong at home and we must be focused from the first minute.

“If we take the right approach and are clinical, we can score there too.”

Torreira’s celebration included a shirt with a reference to a friend from his Sampdoria days who died in a car crash and he was in Genoa last week to watch his former teammates in action.

Is he looking forward to this Sunday’s Derby della Lanterna?

“I hope we win! I made a bet as well with a Genoa fan, we bet a dinner on who wins.”
