Bologna can climb out of the relegation zone with a win against bottom side Chievo at the Dall’Ara this evening.

The match between these two Serie A strugglers kicks off at 19:30 UK time (18:30 GMT).

With Udinese beating Empoli 3-2 on Sunday morning, a win here would see the Rossoblu leapfrog the Tuscans into 17th position.

Sinisa Mihajlovic will have to do without the services of Federico Mattiello and striker Mattia Destro, who injured himself while celebrating his late winner against Sassuolo.

Veteran striker Rodrigo Palacio is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up, so too will Nicola Sansone.

Mihajlovic has a selection dilemma in choosing between Riccardo Orsolini or top goalscorer Federico Santander, who has six goals to his name so far this season to join them up front.

Both Orsolini and Santander scored when these teams played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season at the Bentegodi.

Former Milan man Andrea Poli is in the driving seat for a midfield spot ahead of Switzerland international Blerim Dzemaili and could be joined by Erick Pulgar and Roberto Soriano.

Swedish defender Filip Helander could drop to the bench, while the back four could feature Ibrahima Mbaye, Brazilian pair Danilo and Lyanco, plus Mitchell Dijks.

Chievo, on the other hand, will be without Polish full-back Pawel Jaroszynski and striker Riccardo Meggiorini due to injury.

Emmanuele Giaccherini should start behind Mariusz Stepinski and one of either Manuel Pucciarelli and Sergio Pellissier.

Stepinski is the Gialloblu’s top goalscorer this season with six goals in 29 appearances, and the striker will be eager to add to that tally in this game.

Assane Diousse will be handed the keys to the engine room in midfield and will probably be flanked by Perparim Hetemaj and Nicola Rigoni.

In defence Federico Barba will likely play on the left and Fabio Depaoli on the right, the back four completed by Mattia Bani and Marco Andreolli.

Bologna (probable): Skorupski; Mbaye, Danilo, Lyanco, Dijks; Poli, Pulgar, Soriano; Orsolini, Palacio, Sansone

Chievo (probable): Sorrentino; Depaoli, Andreolli, Bani, Barba; Hetemaj, Diousse, Rigoni; Giaccherini; Stepinski, Pucciarelli
