Aina was shown a straight red card in stoppage time of the 3-2 defeat for showing dissent to the referee, and the FIGC’s sporting judiciary has not held back with its punishment.

His Toro teammate Nicolas Nkoulou, meanwhile, is suspended for the next round of Serie A fixtures after incurring his fifth yellow card in succession, as are Bologna’s Lyanco, Frosinone’s Edoardo Goldaniga, Cagliari’s Leonardo Pavoletti, Empoli’s Matias Silvestre and Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski.

Fiorentina defender German Pezzella is hit with the same ban but has also been fined €1,500.
