Roma have reportedly chosen Torino hitman Andrea Belotti as the ideal heir for Edin Dzeko, available for €50m in the summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, the Giallorossi set their sights on Il Gallo for next season.

The 25-year-old has a €100m release clause in his contract that is valid only for clubs outside of Italy, but his recent form means nobody is prepared to pay it.

Milan had been heavily linked last year, but could not negotiate down the price-tag.

Belotti has found the net nine times in 20 games for Toro this term between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Dzeko turns 33 in March and his contract with Roma runs to June 2020.

The Bosnia international has impressed in the Champions League with five goals in four games, but in Serie A scored only twice in 15 appearances this season.
