Roma are preparing January proposals for Young Boys midfielder Sekou Sanogo and Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and other sources, the two players are top of the list for director of sport Monchi.

He is flying out to Miami for talks with President James Pallotta and is requesting the all-clear for the transfers.

Sanogo is the most likely candidate to make a successful move to the Stadio Olimpico.

The 29-year-old was born in the Ivory Coast, but spent his entire career in Switzerland.

This season he has scored one goal and provided seven assists in 22 competitive appearances for Young Boys, the side that beat Juventus 2-1 midweek in the Champions League.

Roma face more competition when it comes to Weigl, a 23-year-old German international who joined Borussia Dortmund in 2015.

The midfielder has not received much playing time this season, only eight appearances in all competitions.
