The Viola are still in with a strong shout for that third Champions League slot, as last night Roma and Inter drew 1-1, so a win here would put them fourth ahead of the Nerazzurri.

However, Frosinone are equally motivated, because Palermo’s 0-0 draw at Empoli means a victory would catapult them out of the bottom three.

Aleandro Rosi is suspended for the hosts, but Daniel Ciofani leads the attack with Federico Dionisi benched and Leonardo Blanchard returns in defence.

Fiorentina’s form has hit problems in recent weeks, drawing 1-1 at Napoli, losing 4-1 at Roma and held to a last-gasp draw by bottom club Hellas Verona.

Paulo Sousa needs to turn things around, though Nenad Tomovic and Yohan Benalouane miss out through injury.

These sides have met only once before, when Fiorentina won 4-1 on November 1.

Frosinone: Leali; M Ciofani, Ajeti, Blanchard, Pavlovic; Sammarco, Paganini, Frara, Gori, Kragl; D Ciofani

Fiorentina: Tatarusanu; Roncaglia, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Astori, Alonso; Badelj, Vecino, Borja Valero; Bernardeschi, Ilicic; Kalinic
