Today the Cassazione appeals court confirmed the 16-year sentence for murder, as a previous appeals court had reduced the original sentence from 26 years.

“I wanted the truth and I got it,” said Antonella Leardi, the mother of slain Esposito.

“I was never interested in how many years De Santis had in prison, but just that his responsibility was defined.”
