Alberto Gilardino is considering an offer from Pro Piacenza, having said he’ll retire if he doesn’t get an “interesting offer”.

The striker is taking the FIGC course to become a Coach, and is currently without a club after six goals in 16 games for Spezia last season.

“The course at Coverciano was great,” Gilardino told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“The course at Coverciano was great,” Gilardino told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“I had this experience for a month-and-a-half, now in five days I’ll sit the exam. There are five days left for the coaching exam, if an important offer doesn’t arrive I don’t think I’ll be back on the pitch.”

However, the same website reports that Serie C side Pro Piacenza have offered a one-year contract with an option for a second, and it’s being considered by the 36-year-old.

It would be a homecoming of sorts for Gilardino, as he started his career with Piacenza Calcio.
