Despite reportedly pushing hard for a transfer to Inter over the summer, the Croatia international renewed his vows to the Merengues.
“I am very happy at Real Madrid. I want to stay at this club for many years to come,” he told reporters at today’s Champions League draw.
At the same event in Monte Carlo, Real Madrid Florentino Perez went back over the ‘tapping up’ row.
“They wanted to take our Number 10 without paying for him! It’s something I’d never seen in 30 years of my career.”
Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti was told about the comment by Sky Sport Italia.
“I haven’t heard what Perez said, but we’ll read them and then see what to do in the opportune arenas.”
